Fun Stops Along the Way

Adventures in Walking Part 1

August 18, 2016

Walking is one of my favorite activities. It is the one athletic thing I have done consistently for a long time. When we lived in Texas I walked every morning with my best friend, Lynda, for 15 years. We even did the Susan G. Komen 3 day/60 mile walk together. It’s fun, it’s good for you, you get to see beautiful things, and you can do it just about anywhere! So I have decided to do a series on places to walk in North San Diego County and beyond. This first walk is along the Carlsbad Seawall. This particular day we started near Pizza Port on Carlsbad Village Drive and from there it is a 4.5-mile loop. You could start further west on Carlsbad Village, closer to the beach and shorten the walk. Confession: We often enjoy stopping at Pizza Port or Board & Brew after our walk!

This is walking from the parking lot across from Pizza Port down along the beach to where the houses start, just after the power plant (desalination plant) and back
